Barely three weeks after we visited Uncle Eng Wye down at the Brighton hospital, we received word that the innocuous infection that had him hospitalised, had taken him away. I really do not know how to react to this piece of news. If anything, it is just numbness at the speed. There was no sign of such suddenness, but the reaper stole in and ended it all in a short three weeks.

And as if that were not enough, the godsis emailed to inform me that my former Red Cross instructor Alex was recently involved in an accident, and is now fighting for his life after two operations to remove two clots in his brain.

I have been jolted to not take anything for granted these days, and I hope my dear friends have been too. But this is numbingly overwhelming. Surely so many tragedies are not necessary?
