A light from the darkness shall spring.
Renewed shall be blade that was broken.
The crownless again shall be king.
And so it was on a chilly Friday night that midnight magic took over members of the team who were at the club. All of us simultaneously hit top form and razed the floor to bring the house down in a few hours of latin madness. In Raj's words, my mojo returned, and in such style that for the first ever time, I received a compliment from a native latino nonetheless, commenting that my style was mucho harmonious. Not an ego trip of course, but a humble acceptance followed by a promise to better myself in days to come.. :)

Meanwhile, I supported Meisheng in her contemporary dance performance, Elemental, a few nights ago. While the performance fell short of an overall polished appearance, I was highly impressed by a few of the more professional dancers, whose lines were very clean and controlled, and several themes for a few of the pieces. The overall theme for the entire show was the representation of the four elements - fire, water, earth and air - and within each segment came several performances, each bearing a slightly different feel as compared to one another. The flamenco piece and russian aria solo in Fire and Air respectively were particularly noteworthy. But the show stopper was the finale performance, which drew all four elemental threads together in a speed dating scene, in which the dancers weaved a storyline of the different faces and characters presented by different ladies - passionate, smooth, lively or gentle - corresponding to the four elements. Impressive indeed.
