It pains me, therefore, to hear of this - the government-sanctioned annual dolphin culling in an isolated cove in Japan. I can condemn this madness in many many ways, but for now I choose to appeal to a sense of humanity and a touch of universal love. Remember the baby harp seal hunt in Canada which I had written of several months ago? If that was painful to me, this is worse because I am one who has swum enthralled with dolphins, side by side, eye to eye in brief moments of apparent connection.
A petition goes around, to be delivered eventually to the Japanese government. For our seas, our oceans, I have read and signed it. Now, will you?
