The ST Review pages ran a heartwarming story today. Parts of it below.
In Peanuts, the comic strip, Spike – brother of Snoopy – feels terribly sick one night. Spike murmurs, "It’s three o’clock in the morning, and I’m alone in the desert and I don’t feel well." Tucked under his blanket, head lying on a cold hard stone, he cries out, "Mum!"
--
In his most desperate moment, his heart’s cry is that one simple word. For many of us, Mum is the one we turn to in times of emotional need. She is there for us when we are upset that we did not achieve the success we had desired, or when we bickered with our best friend, went through a break-up, are furious with our boss, or learning to burp a baby..
~
She's always been here.. And she’s a hero indeed.
Mum, Happy Mother’s Day, and just in case you’re wondering, everyday will be Mother’s Day for you. :)
